About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate Principal/Senior Software Engineer who is eager to delve deep into our products to be able to move into an Associate Technical Team Lead. 

This role is ideal for a strong Senior Software Engineer with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills who is ready to take the first steps into a leadership role while maintaining hands-on technical involvement.  
 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities 

Oversee and contribute to day-to-day operations:  

● Develop technical specifications and architecture and review engineering solutions 

● Collaborate with internal teams to implement systems and product architecture 

● Support other team members' work  

● Improve development and operational procedures   

● Experience with test automation  

● Analyse system requirements and prioritize tasks 

Line management of engineering staff, including performance management: 

● Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture  

● Set clear team goals, delegate tasks and set deadlines 

● Monitor team performance and report on metrics 

● Ensure systems security engineering principles are followed 

● Motivate team members 

● Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts 

● Encourage creativity and risk-taking 

Skills, experience, and behaviours 

● Proven work experience as a .NET Developer in an Agile environment  

● In-depth knowledge of the C# .NET language   

● Proven work experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure) 

● Proven work experience with containerization (preferably Kubernetes) 

● Proficiency in building web-based applications 

● Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills 

● Troubleshooting abilities 

● Confident in your technical skills, happy to challenge others and share your expertise and opinions  

● Decision-making skills 

● Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving a complex problem 

● An academic qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
