About the role

Join our dynamic team of solution architects within the Ascent CTO Office, contributing to our ongoing expansion. As an Azure Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with both business and technical teams from prospects and customers. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around understanding requirements, aligning Azure technologies, leveraging Ascent's technology accelerators, and ensuring seamless technical implementation for successful project delivery.

As the Azure Solution Architect, your focus will center on driving digital and application innovation. In this hybrid role, you will balance client interactions with London-based clients, spending approximately 50% of your time on billable client work, 25% on presales engagements, and 25% on innovation initiatives, including trend analysis, proposition development, and content creation.

What you'll do

• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Tech Leads, and Delivery Managers to craft and deliver pioneering technology solutions for clients.
• Thoroughly analyze and address customer needs from both technical and functional standpoints.
• Lead end-to-end presales solution architecture for cloud-based web applications, ensuring their alignment with client requirements.
• Design architecturally sophisticated solutions that are not only visionary but also practical and feasible.
• Play a key role in advancing Ascent’s application development accelerators.
• Exercise technical oversight throughout project delivery to ensure alignment with envisioned architecture. Develop and present compelling proposals, emphasizing business value and return on investment.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, actively contributing to the evolution of Ascent’s reference architecture.
• Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships, engaging with stakeholders from senior management to C-suite levels.
• Manage client expectations meticulously, aiming for exceptional levels of client satisfaction.

Skills and Experience

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

• Proven track record as either Software Architect, Enterprise Architect, Azure Solution Architect within Microsoft's Digital and Application Innovation domain.
• Solid technological background with hands-on experience in application development, encompassing API, UI, and Storage.
• Extensive and current proficiency in Azure application development tools, technologies, and standards, including but not limited to Kubernetes, GitHub, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, App Services, Azure Functions, C#, RESTful, SQL, Cosmos DB, Event Hub, Logic Apps, and React.
• Proficient understanding of Azure infrastructure at a high level.
• Expertise with CI/CD tools, techniques, and testing frameworks.
• Substantial experience in Agile software development within a commercial context.
• Familiarity with Design Led software development principles.
• Ability to estimate solution costs and manage their impact on project deliverables.
• Adaptability across organizational scales, from startups to large enterprises.
• Exceptional communication skills encompassing verbal, written, and presentation domains.
• Preferred certification from Microsoft.
