About the Role 

Atida in partnership with Ascent has been rebuilding the base product sets on which our services are built based using the latest technologies and products. We’re now looking to add another talented software engineer to our team, joining us as a Senior GoLang Developer. You’ll support the continued development of the Atida e-commerce platform as the business enters a period of high growth, including further international expansion and changes to its core proposition. There is no legacy here, just forward-facing, modern languages, products, and concepts, and we need your expertise to bring them to life. You will be accountable for delivering best-in-class engineering, best practices, and standards whilst part of a team of high-caliber technology professionals building a class-defining product.  

What you’ll do 

We are looking for a Senior GoLang Developer, responsible for managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the different layers of server components. Your primary focus will be the development of new functionality in the existing technology stack and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the other layers of the platform. You will also be responsible for integrating back-office front-end components. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well. Our stack includes Golang, Algolia, Spryker engine, Contentful, Next.js, Akeneo, Kubernetes, Elastic Search, New Relic APM, and much more. Your accountabilities will be built around these key themes: 

  • Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code  

  • Translating software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software  

  • Maintain and extend Spryker

Skills and Experience 

We’re looking for an experienced developer, bringing with you:  

  • Strong experience with MicroServices programming, preferably GoLang.  

  • Good understanding and professional experience with Agolia  

  • Deep understanding of Dev/Ops (e.g Kubernetes, Docker, and TerraForm) 

  • Experience working with a headless eCommerce solution such as Spryker or Commerce Tools.  

  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages 

  • Proficiency in code versioning tools, such as Git  

A basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, understanding the fundamental design principles behind a scalable application, and user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments. Also, you need to demonstrate familiarity with the limitations of GoLang as a platform and its workarounds – your point of view will be important in this role. 

Experience working with Contentful or other CMS is a big asset, and if you have worked with Akeneo or other PIM tools that would be brilliant. Knowledge of Event Sourcing and Message Queues and experience working with Elasticsearch and/or gRPC and Kafka are all nice to have.
