Founded in 1890, Meyer Parkett GmbH is a leading supplier of wood and wood-look flooring in Austria, with a significant presence in international markets such as the USA and Scandinavia. The company specialises in high-quality terrace floorboards and is known for its innovative approach to flooring solutions. As a market leader in Austria, Meyer sought to enhance its service offerings through digital transformation, particularly by improving the efficiency and accessibility of its terrace planning processes.
The brief.
Meyer aimed to digitise its complex terrace planning process, which was previously manual, time-consuming, and prone to inefficiencies. Customers needed a more precise tool to calculate material needs, costs, and layouts, while Meyer’s sales team sought to reduce the time spent on manual calculations. Additionally, Meyer wanted to minimise material waste through intelligent cutting algorithms and simplify the process for non-expert users. Our task was to develop an intuitive online platform that could fully automate these calculations, offer real-time stock information, and cater to both local and international markets.
The solution.
We developed the Meyer Terrace Planner, a digital tool that automates terrace design and material calculations with advanced algorithms. These algorithms optimise material use by minimising offcuts, simulate various layout options, and assess the aesthetics of the final design. The platform generates detailed stock lists and pricing, allowing users to plan complex terrace layouts without technical expertise. We integrated real-time data from external systems, including stock availability and material costs, and adapted the tool for different international markets through localisation and modular design. This solution significantly enhanced both user experience and operational efficiency for Meyer.
The outcome.
The Meyer Terrace Planner has transformed the company’s terrace planning process, increasing efficiency, reducing material waste, and boosting customer satisfaction. With its modular, cloud-based SaaS design, the tool has allowed Meyer to scale internationally and take on a new role as a digital service provider.
